Generations of Beach Driving Accessibility

My husband’s family goes back to the founding families of St. Augustine, Florida.  I can recount lots the stories shared at family reunions about all the fun and memories the beaches of St. Augustine has brought to our families.  Back in the days picnics lasted for entire weekends including overnight camping, bonfires, sing-a-longs, midnight swims and a.m. fishing competitions.  Heck NASCAR wouldn’t exist today if it wasn’t for the great drivable sandy beaches of Florida.  Yes, over the years some of the fun has faded to memories like car racing, overnight camping, bonfires and even vehicle ramps closing at dark.  But, somewhere in the sand a line has to be drawn for how much residents will tolerate.  The residents are speaking out about losing beach driving and vehicle access to the “Matanzas Inlet”.  Residents and visitors of St. Johns and Flagler counties have been living with nature on our beaches for generations.  The “Matanzas Inlet” wildlife is abundant with the largest colony of sea birds and turtles on the Florida coastline.  We’ve lived in harmony with nature for generations, now some misguided environmental groups want us denied vehicle access and for us to shut up.  Well, I and many more residents will not be silent and are speaking out for your rights.  Yes, everyone’s life is hectic between struggling with economic setbacks, working more hours while having less time to enjoy life and family.  But, when the day comes for you to plan a trip to our beaches or the “Matanzas Inlet” you will discover your right to access our beaches are gone forever.  Don’t be the one to say why didn’t I hear about this earlier or why didn’t I read about in the newspapers.   The Newspapers and News Channels don’t want to buck the status quo.   Our county commissioners are not informing residents of issues their voting on in our county commission meetings.  If you are reading this blog posting, please share the information with your friends, family members, tweet this website on twitter http://www.preservebeachdrivingstjohns.com.  Inform others of what they and future generations will loose before it’s really to late.  Small groups like this are grossly underfunded.  However, you may purchase a t-shirt that will fund the cause to preserve your rights for driving on St. Johns County beaches at local businesses.  I personally know that you can purchase t-shirt’s at Devil’s Elbow Fish Camp and Resort located on A1A Crescent Beach, FL.  Everyone involved is volunteering their time and efforts to preserve your rights to drive on St. Johns County beaches, just help us spread the word.    Rumor has it that their will be a peaceful rally on January 1, 2010 at 2PM at the lowest tide to show support for this cause.  Join us and show your support.  Bring your sand buckets, fishing gear, surf boards, wave runners, jet ski’s, and even your family picnic.  Have fun and make a memory at the “Matanzas Inlet”.

We’ll open this year at 4am, so be prepared for the Door Buster sale rush.

On the 10th day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
We’ll work 10 hour shifts with 2 15 min breaks and 1 hr for lunch.

On the 9th day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
We’ll provide sandwiches only for associates lunch.

On the 8th day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
Wear store colors, totally black shoes and no tennis shoes.

On the 7th day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
– congratulations team we’re 1st in the district for Customer Service Satisfaction
– we didn’t meet our 12K sales goal
– we’re 12th in the district;
– we didn’t meet our ICAPP goal,
– we need more sale referrals and $10 Off coupons end today.

On the 6th day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
All associates offer to save the Customer 10% for opening a new account, get 6 ICAPPs on Black Friday.
– Don’t answer questions confirming interest rates;
– Don’t confirm interest is compounded daily;
– Don’t confirm late fees of $35;
– Just offer to SAVE 10% and nothing else.

On the 5th day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
All associates on Black Friday need 5 customer surveys completed in kiosk.

On the 4th day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
All associates on Black Friday sale each customer 4 $25 gift cards.

On the 3rd day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
All associates on Black Friday needs 3 Catalog Referral Sales.

On the 2nd day before Black Friday
Our manager said to us:
– On Wednesday there is a store inspection everyone must help;
so dust everything is sight, straighten and size your departments,
organize your stockrooms and
– Oh, there is 3 huge truck deliveries, too.

On the Eve before Black Friday
As my family sat down to our Thanksgiving feast my telephone rings.
My supervisor says to me:
–I need you to open and close the department
– Jayne called out sick,
– Bob broke a hip,
– Chris’s truck broke down
– and Laura went out of town.
So, It’s you all day, all by yourself be in at 3:45 AM til close at 10PM
and still be in Saturday at 5 AM.

On the Eve before Black Friday
The News Report Flash appears on T.V.
– Shoppers tailgating parties in retailers parking lots.
– Showing flyers of store maps with limit quanties of Hot Doorbusters Items
– Visions of mobs at the stores across town.
– People nauling on turkeys legs, camping out, yelling and cusing sounding like an Urban Dictionary Spelling Bee,
cops with stunt guns for crowd control.
Another News Report ALERT showing happy campers carolling, drinking free coffee, walking freely about mingling holding RED Tickets.
In the mist of the fog an image appeared of a Big Red “TARGET” sign the place you want to be.

– Lord, I pray that the customers wear stores colors to confuse the mob that rushes me.
– Lord, I pray we meet our sales goal, so we all have jobs to keep.
– Lord, I pray 6 customers ask me for an Instant Credit Application
with their driver’s license saying please.
– Lord, I pray that the Customer Satisfaction Surveys will be sweet, since we don’t
have what they need.
– Lord, I pray we have enough gift cards, since no one knows what people need.
– Lord, I pray we had WiFi in the store to complete speedy Catalog Sale Referrals.
– Lord, I pray the three trucks GPS navigation systems leaves them lost driving down the wrong street.
– Lord, I pray for a personal shopper to shop for me.

Sometimes network marketers and recruiters treat LinkedIn like every other social networking tool in a race to make connections. New feature in GMail Chat is “Group Chat” for Microsoft Explorer 7.0 and Firefox 2.0 Web Browers

The group chat feature lets you chat with many friends at once. There’s no limit to the number of people you can chat with, and any participant can invite others to join. To get started, follow these steps:

1. Start a chat with a single person in your Contacts list.
2. Once you’ve started the chat, click Options at the bottom left of your chat window and select Group Chat.
3. In the field labeled ‘Add a person to this chat,’ enter the name of the contact(s) you want to add to your group chat.

To end your chat, click the X at the corner of the chat window. Others in the group chat will get a message saying that you’ve left the conversation. If you want to rejoin, you’ll need to be invited back by a contact who’s still in the group chat. The group chat will continue until all participants have left.

This holiday season our family became Wii enthusiast like many other American families over the last three years. I understand that it’s been on the Market for a couple of years and the popularity is still rising with all the interactive programs hitting the markets. Just this morning on our local news they interviewed local doctors expressing the need to Wii players to warm up their body due to an uprising of patients having Wii injuries such as Wii elbow and more depending on the interactive game.

It really didn’t dawn on me that what enjoyment and laughter that our family enjoys is sweeping across the U.S. with families sharing more videos of them playing their favorite games. I received an invitation from our TM Julie Maloney to join another social network NING group at <a href=”http://gamermomsclub.ning.com/group/wiifitmommies”>http://gamermomsclub.ning.com/group/wiifitmommies</a>. With all the NING invites that I receive I seldom invite 672 people to join, but I visited the group and just couldn’t resist sharing this site with my friends from my gmail account. However, I would like to invite every TM that loves their Wii for their choice of personal fitness to check out this group above. I’ve also joined the group <a href=”http://gamermomsclub.ning.com/group/wiifit”>http://gamermomsclub.ning.com/group/wiifit</a>. Julie shared that her favorite was the Wii Fit Hulu Hoop activity. Since I’m still waiting to find a Wii-Fit board to purchase this activity was new to me. I found a video on this site about the Wii-Fit Board and would love to share with others that are still waiting to purchase one.

I personally enjoy playing all the Wii Sports games (tennis, bowling, boxing, and golf). I also enjoy the interactive game Outdoor Adventures which is a double blast of fun for our entire family.
